Aerial Quilt

Collaborative quilt made with friend and fellow maker TRX, based in Oakland, CA. First, I made various sized quilt blocks using the blue and patterned fabrics, dark green, and light yellow. They then pieced the blocks together using the brighter green and and yellow patterned fabric to join. They then used scraps to make the quilt back. We both took turns hand quilting and I finished it off with binding. The name Aerial came from the quilt's resulting look being reminiscent of flying over land, looking down at a mish mash of farm fields and lakes, greens and yellows and blues. We jointly gave it to a mutual friend upon the birth of her first child.
